Everyone will have had a birthday or will celebrate their Birthday in 2020 – We can all agree No one expected to have a “Pandemic Birthday”.

I grew up in the sixties and Halloween was a holiday we always looked forward to.  Back in the day, if there was a porch light on that meant that we were welcome to come to the door and receive candy.  Sadly, that’s not the case anymore.

It’s almost that time of year again, Halloween will be here before you know it. With the Halloween season comes kids of all ages heading out to go trick or treating in their local communities. When it comes to being a dog owner, there are many times you realize that these canine friends are much like having little children in the home.

Many dogs have a difficult time with thunderstorms, fireworks, and other loud noises to the point that they sit shaking hidden somewhere in your home.

Make Sure Your Dog Has Their ID Tag On

The above photo is both my dogs ID tags  Murphy & Seamus Hate the 4th of July – I have to hold them because they shake uncontrollably.  Seamus – the Beagle is famous for getting off his leash and runs about 90 miles an hour with me in hot pursuit.

In the event that I was unable to catch him (knock on wood – it hasn’t happened yet) His name and phone number will help whoever finds him to contact me.

It’s also important to make sure that the information on your dog’s tag is up to date. This will ensure your dog is able to be returned should they get off the leash or lost.

Inform guests that your dog is terrified of Fireworks

If you’re hosting a 4th of July party at your house try to make it a family affair where everyone works together to keep an eye on your dog. It’s important that everyone knows whether or not your dog is scared of fireworks, other people or anything else that’s associated with the 4th of July.

Why Being a Grandparent is Awesome

While it is a true blessing to be able to be a parent and enjoy the happiness that is raising kids to grow up and venture out into their own adult life, it’s also a true blessing when you become a grandparent.

There are so many reasons why being a grandparent is awesome. Going from the title of just a parent to being a grandparent is a big adjustment, but it almost comes quite naturally. This new adventure in parenthood where you get to meet a new member of the family all the while watching your kids be parents is such a joy.

Today I’m going to share a few reasons why being a grandparent is awesome because it’s one of my favorite titles to have. Why Being a Grandparent is Awesome

You are the Best Through the eyes of your grandchildren, you can do no wrong. Those little children will grow up to see you as an amazing human and love every moment that they get to spend with you.

To your grandchildren, you are truly the best person in the world, well, beyond their parents that is.

Watch Children as Parents

 

One of the very best reasons why being a grandparent is awesome is that you get to watch your own adult children become parents of their own. You get to fully take in all that parenting entails with a new generation, your children, as they venture along in the path of parenthood like you once did.

Being a grandparent is truly a blessing that only comes second to the blessing of being a parent. Watching this new generation of kids go through childhood and become their own little person, all the while looking up to you as if you’re the best human in the whole world. 

My grandson is so much like my son that it’s frightening (in a good way) Sometimes I look at him and for a moment I think I’m looking at my son (who is now 32) then I realize I’m not 30 years old anymore LOL

 

As a Grandparent – You get to Spoil the Grandkids

When it comes to being a grandparent. you have a whole new set of rules that are much more lenient than those during parenthood. You are no longer held by the rules of parenthood. You get to spoil your grandchildren in ways you probably weren’t able to or didn’t with your own children.  You get to simply enjoy all of the fun parts of childhood and shower them with Love and presents.

There’s nothing more amazing for any parent than to be able to sleep in on a special day. Father’s Day is a great day to make Dad sleep in. Let Dad know that he doesn’t need to get up and do anything around the house on Father’s Day. Tell him to lounge in bed for the morning and enjoy a few extra hours of shut-eye.

Gather up the kids to whip Dad up a special breakfast in bed on Father’s Day. There’s nothing more special than having a homemade meal from your kids on Father’s Day.
