This is my 3rd eBay Live Convention – what is eBay LIVE, you ask ? It is yearly gathering of eBay Buyers and Sellers from all over the world. We come together to gain knowledge on how to sell more efficiently, retain our buyers, network with other sellers and to have lots of fun. eBay has held these LIVE events since 2002. they were held at the following locations:

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE – a thing of the past ????
What has happened to good old fashioned Customer Service ?? You know, when companies valued your business ?? When sales people, clerks, service representatives went out of their way to make sure the customer was happy ??
Does anybody remember this time ??
When was the last time you received GOOD customer service ???
Can’t remember, can you ??
When was the last time you received POOR customer service ??
I thought so !!! You can probably recall very vividly of the lack of customer service you received, right ?
I am not ashamed to admit that I can remember when store employees called you by name if you were a regular customer, they’d ask how you’ve been, ask about your family………..this type of service is now NON-EXISTENT.
If you speak with a human being when calling customer service, Congratulations !! Nowadays, you are greeted by an auto attendant, you are then asked 100 questions and provided with 200 options, such as
- Press 1 for this
- Press 2 for that
By the time I listen to all the options, I forgot why I called !!
Don’t these companies know that it is the customer who is responsible for their paycheck ?? That’s right, without a customer, you wouldn’t have a job !!! So, think twice before you speak rudely to me……..or rush me off the phone because your company policy mandates that you have to take a certain number of calls per hour – you should be grateful the customer is taking the time to dial the phone !!
Another thing, doesn’t the company realize that the customer has a choice ?? For example, I can buy a dozen eggs, for example, in just about any grocery store, as well as the Larger retail stores that sell groceries, or the “Quickie Mart” on the corner that also happens to be a gas station.
Let’s face it, eggs are eggs……prices may vary, that is certainly true, but, a smile on the face of the cashier at the checkout counter is priceless !! It might even make the difference in whether I will shop at that store again……
Please explain to me why most people settle for poor customer service ?? If you should dare to ask for assistance, the clerk will roll her eyes, or immediately tell you what he or she can’t help you with, and pass you off to another representative, frustrating the customer even more – having to tell their story AGAIN.
I DIDN’T ASK WHAT YOU COULDN’T DO…..I asked what you could do.
In addition to the high cost of gas, I am not surprised that a majority of customers shop online. It’s as simple as:
- Select your item + put it in your cart
- Complete your shipping and payment information
- Submit your order.
As a Powerseller on eBay, I make it my priority to make my customer #1 – after all, my customer really is responsible for my paycheck + I will do whatever it takes to make the online shopping experience for my customer one that they will remember + will make them a repeat customer !!!
I pride myself in shipping items within 24 hours of purchase and I am in constant communication with my customer – I send a Payment Received Notification + a Shipping Notification with delivery confirmation via email.
I also send a personal note to Thank my customer for their business – attached is a small token of my appreciation that contains my eBay user ID – my website and my phone #
Return customers are the most valuable !!!

Never a dull moment for this crazyredhead
I have been a Trading Assistant on eBay since 2002. I have encountered a diverse group of individuals and have sold various items ranging from a 1976 Fire Truck to a Statue of Captain Morgan, to name a few of the out of the ordinary things that can be found on eBay !!!!
It is truly enjoyable as well as rewarding (both financially and spiritually) to have the pleasure and the privilege to list and sell items on behalf of my clients.
In addition to assisting them in making a profit, I am grateful for the education I receive as a result of researching their items.
For example, Joel contacted me to help him liquidate his inventory of electrical supplies. His warehouse was literally an electrical smorgasbord of switches, receptacles, outlets, circuit breakers, light bulbs, cable splicers, wire markers, etc.
Being of the feminine gender, I didn’t know the difference between voltage, wattage, amps – talk about being CLUELESS ………….
Well, after being associated with Joel as his Trading Assistant, all that has changed !! Now, you wouldn’t want me to wire your home – but I have learned a great deal about these electrical items !!
A year ago, a light switch was something you turned on to brighten the room – now, I have become educated as to the types of light switches
- single pole
- 2 pole
- 3-way
Plus do you know what GFCI stands for ?? I do !! It is an abbreviation for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter - and should be installed in circuits which are located in potentially wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, garages, workshops and outdoor locations. Although they are now required by code in such areas, older homes were built without them. They are inexpensive, easy to install and they may save your life!

Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions – HairUWear
Another one of my Trading Assistant Customer’s just happens to be a long time friend who manages a Hair Salon called “The Hairafter”
Kathy and I have known each other since grammar school and have remained friends throughout the years (too numerous to mention)
I remember when she went to hairdressing school, and actually, was one of her hair models when she was being featured for a particular haircut style that was popular back in the day.
Okay…. that was over 30 years ago, however, when I returned back to Connecticut 5 years ago, the Hairafter was the salon I called when I was in need of a haircut. Imagine my surprise to learn that Kathy was still working there.
Kathy was interested in learning more about eBay and asked if I would list the Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions that the Salon had in inventory.
These Hair Extension Retail for over $100.00 and have sold extremely well on eBay. To date I have sold 15 of these items – total sales of $611.14.

Here’s another bit of interesting research I thought I’d share as a result of listing and selling as a Trading Assistant on eBay.

I’m a crazyredhead Rock Star !!
I need to share – had my Best month on eBay $3,476.66 (MAY) Beat April by almost $1,000.00 Plus my DSRS are increased as well (WHOO HOO) and have also received wonderful feedback comments.
When I joined OSI Rock Stars in January 2008 – My Total sales were $909.00
Need I say more ?? The knowledge and information at this website is well worth the price of admission !!!
I am driven and committed to my goals – I know this is silly – but I make it “my business” to be the 1st one logged onto the teleconferences as well as gotomeeting.com sessions and as soon as Janelle’s email is sent out – the dates and times are on my Outlook Calendar – I don’t want to listen after the class – I want to learn and grow first hand as soon as the speakers start talking – reminds me of the “Aerosmith” song:
“I don’t want to close my eyes – cuz I don’t want to miss a thing”

Vintage Aurora Model Kits
I consider myself fortunate in my Trading Assistant Business to work with a diverse group of people and it is indeed rewarding when I list and sell their items on eBay because along with a handsome profit for the owner, I learn so much about my customers/clients regarding how they came about collecting these “treasures” that sell so well on eBay. One such client, who I am also proud to call my friend, is an avid collector of Model Kits. He is now semi-retired, and has decided to part with his collection of Model Kits that began in the late 1950’s and was his lifelong hobby.
We meet for lunch twice a month, I enjoy his enthusiasm as he recalls the history behind the particular group of model kits he has chosen to have me list on eBay. These precious airplane models have been kept in their original boxes, Steve has catalogued every detail regarding the year of issue, scale size, condition of the box, it is plain to see that he has treated these collectibles with Tender Loving Care.
